A Message from your Parent Booster Association President

Hello Fellow PBA Members:                                   

              Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! I am really glad to be able to help the school as a member of the PBA.  The wonderful job that Sandra de la Garza and Gloria Salazar did in the previous school year led to great contributions that will be enjoyed during this year and for generations to come.

              Did you know that just by being an EDS parent, you are a member of the PBA?  We will do our best to keep you informed of the PBA’s progress, as we feel that close communication between home and school is of upmost importance in education today.  With your help, we can partner in achieving a better environment for your child’s education.  Children are very perceptive about their parents involvement in their education and development and because of this, we encourage you to be as active as possible in the Parent Booster Association.

              With the beginning of the year, we have two initial events that will help us finish the Kinder Playscape tricycle path and kick start the project to add a shaded eating area to the Big Playscape.  You will receive invitations to participate in the PBA.  They will come via email, in hardcopy in your child’s take-home folder, and fliers will be posted around campus.  Please take the time to read them.  If you are willing to assist with PBA projects, please contact me or any other PBA officer.  We have numerous upcoming events and all help is surely appreciated.

              Both my wife Elizabeth and I are very glad to be a part of the EDS family.  This is our 8th year of association with this school.  As a teacher myself, I have always found that parents who support their children’s school and lead by example help ensure that their children receive a quality education and will see excellent results.
