2009-2010 EDS Fifth Grade Supply List

 

The following items are to be purchased in the office:

  1. Assignment book, $4.00, delivered on first day of class
  2. Dividers for the science fair binder, $5.00, distributed in science class

Required Daily Classroom Supplies to Purchase

  1. 12 pocket minimum Expanding File (sample is in EDS Office)
  2. 3 dozen #2 pencils for 5th grade classroom
  3. 1 dozen #2 pencils for Spanish classroom
  4. Two mechanical pencils and extra lead to keep in the Science Lab
  5. Erasable pens, black and blue, 4 of each
  6. 4 regular red pens
  7. 2 highlighters, any color—keep one in pencil bag, rest in dishpan
  8. 3 rectangular erasers (2 for Spanish class)
  9. Scissors, preferably Fiskars brand with pointed tips
  10. White loose-leaf notebook paper, wide ruled (not college ruled), 8½ x 11”
  11. Pocket calculator
  12. Large zippered pencil bag
  13. Flexible ruler, inches and centimeters
  14. USB flash drive, at least 1.0GB
  15.  25 plastic sheet protectors (sleeves)

Additional Supplies for 5th grade

  1. 1 bottle of white glue and 2 glue sticks
  2. 1 package of 4 dry erase markers (thick chisel tip) and 1 dry board eraser (these are for Math activities—we supply the small white boards)
  3. Box of colored pencils, at least 16 count
  4. Box of crayons, at least 16 count
  5. Box of washable markers, at least 8 count
  6. Box of Cray-pas Junior Oil Pastels, at least 16 count (Michael’s Crafts)
  7. One Composition Notebook for writing journal and language notes (9 ¾” X 7 ½” 100 sheets)
  8. 2 large boxes of facial tissues
  9. 1 box quart size “zip type” plastic bags for Spanish
  10. Uniform for P. E.(refer to parent handbook)
  11. 4 cloth book covers must be EXTRA LARGE size
  12.  Regular plastic dishpan, no larger than 12” x 15” as this size fits our shelves.
  13.  One-1 ½ inch, 3 ring binder with a clear plastic pocket on cover for Title page for science fair project -NO Names on binders.
  14. The following novels, either new or good quality used:
    1. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis
    2. Number the Stars by Lois Lowry
    3. My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George

Available for purchase in EDS library Mondays and Wednesdays during summer.
