Teresa Hoskins

Teresa Hoskins has over thirty years of teaching experience including The Episcopal Day School, Brownsville I.S.D., and Austin I.S.D.  She is a lifetime member of Church of the Advent, Episcopal, and alum of E.D.S.  She is married to Mark Hoskins.  Their three children Mark Jr., Michael, and Jane all are E.D.S. graduates.
Teresa is currently president of Delta Kappa Gamma International, Alpha Mu Chapter.  She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Kindergarten Endorsement.  Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in English from The University of Texas at Austin.

 

Marilyn Osborn

Marilyn Osborn served as the Dean of Instruction for Gladys Porter High School for the last three school years.  Prior to moving to the Rio Grande Valley during the summer of 2005 with her husband Dave, the General Manager of Valley Telephone Cooperative, she was a Curriculum and Instruction Administrator in the Houston area.  She has worked with teachers to develop programs for gifted and talented and at-risk students at the intermediate, middle and high school levels.  Marilyn and Dave are the proud parents of Jaime, a fourth grade teacher in Humble I.S.D. and Matthew, an internal auditor for Ernst & Young.  Marilyn and Dave are members of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Harlingen.
            Marilyn earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Stephen F. Austin State University, majoring in English and Political Science, with a minor in Education.  She also completed her master’s in Education at SFASU.  She is a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society and the Delta Kappa Gamma chapter in Harlingen.

 

Sandra M. Garza, Day Care Director

Sandra Garza became the EDS Day Care Director in July of 2008.  She first came to EDS in 2006 as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher for four-year-olds, a position which she still holds.  Mrs. Garza has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Texas in Austin.  In May of 2008 she completed a 72 hour program in Early Childhood Education.  She has also completed the requirements to earn her Texas Day Care License.  She plans to continue pursuing an Alternative Certification Program in Education. 

Sandra Garza and her husband Michael have two sons, Danny and Adrian, who are EDS students in the first and fifth grades.  They are members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

 

Christina Mendoza

Mrs. Christina Mendoza is Episcopal Day School’s Business Manager. Mrs. Mendoza earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas State University with a double major in Accounting and Finance.  Christina Mendoza worked ten years in the Austin area for several state agencies.    Mrs. Mendoza and her husband John have two children.  Joseph is six and Madison is four.  They are members of the Church of the Advent, Episcopal.
